Information for schools

HelpYourSchool is a free service available to any nursery, school or college within the UK. In short, we offer a simple way for parents and teachers to earn commission for their school while shopping online. There are currently over 200 retailers affiliated with the scheme and the list is growing each and every week.

Operating as a not-for-profit company, HelpYourSchool is a trading style of Your Internet Ltd (registered company no. 5571906) who specialise in the creation and management of online businesses.

Started by one of our Directors, HelpYourSchool was initially limited to a single school. However, the popularity and success of the scheme lead to its expansion.

Frequently asked questions

How can I get my school listed?

Simply email details of the school (including it's LEA) to info@helpyourschool.co.uk.

What commission is my school entitled to?

Commission rates vary greatly from retailer to retailer. Some retailers offer a set percentage on all sales while others have a commission structure based on the value of the purchase and/or the type of goods bought. Typically, commission ranges from 2% to 10%. In certain circumstances the retailer may offer a set amount for a specific user interaction. i.e. £5 for every user who signs up to the Sainsbury’s DVD free trial or £60 for each person buying home insurance from Lloyds. Commission rates can also vary from week to week as retailers revise their schemes and offer new promotions etc.

We've got a website. Can we link to HelpYourSchool?

Yes you can. In fact, it's a great way to let teachers and parents know about the service.

When are transactions added to our account?

Transactions are added to the balance of your account within 5 working days but only ‘clear’ when we receive payment from the retailer. This can take up to 2 months.

When does my school receive payments?

Payments are sent out on a quarterly basis to schools with a balance of £20 or more. If your school balance is less than £20 then the amount will be rolled over to the next quarter.

How are payments made?

Payments are always made by cheque.

How is the service funded?

The service is funded by charging a small amount from each commission earned. This simply covers our costs and is not designed to make a profit for our company.
